Who are Miss Black America
Miss Black America were a punk rock band formed in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England in 1999. Following early patronage from BBC Radio One DJ John Peel, the band received press attention as part of NME magazine’s short-lived ‘No Name’ scene. It really seems that John Peel followed most of our broadcasts as well as grabbing the best from Bull & Gate.
Shortly after their performances with us at the OnlineTV broadcast network they were lauded by all kinds of music pundits. We were happy to be there at the beginning.
While their discography is not deep it is steeped in history and a brand of music that should not be forgotten or missed. We only know for sure that Mickey Smith and Seymour Glass are there in the group, the rest maybe the band will contact us one day and let us know?
