Who Are Scarecrow Collection

Scarecrow Collection is an original group of musicians creating an original sound. They have been described as “Rock n’ Roots Music”, but their music is genre breaking. They combine such various influences as Frank Zappa, The Allman Brothers, Bela Fleck, Talking Heads and others, and explore such genres as Bluegrass, Latin, Jazz, and good ol’ Rock n’ Roll. They create unique songs that are both introspective and danceable at the same time. They are “heady” music that you will have no problem shaking your booty to….

The group began several years back in a small NJ basement, jamming out some original tunes and playing the occasional gig at local coffee houses and open mic nights. After several line-up changes, the band has settled in on its current line-up: Bass, Drums, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, and Keyboards (with the occasional guest musician!) The band plays at locations in NYC such as The Bitter End and Tobacco Road. In NJ, the band frequents its favorite haunt, The Underpass in Elmwood Park. More recently, the band has played stages from Richmond VA to Albany NY.

Scarecrow Collective have shared the stage with The Jerry Garcia Band, The Dave Mason Band, The Juggling Suns, The Lo Faber Band, The Ordinary Way, Marc Ford and the Sinners, Audley Freed, and many others. They have played clubs like the Wetlands, performed live in Woodstock NY on WDST radio, and can be heard on Fordham University’s WFUV radio, as well as many online radio streams. Scarecrow Collection are currently spreading out in the Northeast scene, playing from VA to VT, and the band is always moving forward to create more music and get more people dancing to the sound of the Scarecrow Collection!

Scarecrow Collection is a melodic jam band from New Jersey. They have released two studio albums. Members of this band also played in  Give Us the Money Lebowski, as a side-project featuring members of the band Scarecrow Collection, Thing One and Reverse Logic.
