Vic Firecracker takes the stage at the famous Acme Underground in New York City with a powerful brand of alternative rock. A non-stop extravaganza of exciting songs the performance does not stop. This is a solid performance and shows how practiced and ready this band is for the prime time. Robert Logan’s singing and guitar slinging top the bill as he sets out his song repertoire without flaw. Impressive drumming by Ned Gallacher can be heard throughout the set as he not only holds the beat but adds to the whole symmetry of each song.
We are lucky to have saved this tape before it totally disintegrated and you get those results.
Who is Vic Firecracker
After spending a number of years recording and producing bands from his hometown of Boston, vocalist/guitarist Robert Logan would finally venture out of the studio with his band, Vic Firecracker, in 1995. Taking a cue from the likes of Jawbox, Mission of Burma, and Sunny Day Real Estate, Logan and company would capture a heavier but melodic guitar-based sound on his debut split EP with Orbit in 1997 through Lunch Records. The next year, Lunch followed with the CD EP entitled Mixed Not Mastered.
The result is a wonderful debut called “Mixed not Mastered” (6 song e.p.). Logan wrote, recorded, produced and played most of the instruments along with bassist Pat Campbell a host of guest musicians on “Mixed not Mastered.”
Vic Firecracker have been touring since 1995 up and down the east coast when they released their first of three demo tapes followed by a spilt 7″ single on Lunch Records with Orbit. Other releases include a sultry version of Van Halen’s “Little Guitars” for the Van Halen Tribute CD on Cherry Disc.
