Tomovsky logoTomoyuki Oki, トモフスキー or Tomovsky was a surprise performer for our amazing broadcast for CMJ at Spiral Lounge and we were happily amazed at his talent, song writing, and ability to hold the audience with the feel of a whole band, even though it was just this one gentle person. He made a great effort to communicate with the audience even though his English was horrid. Yet, there he was and we are so happy to have had the opportunity to record this concert. Totally solo Tomovsky enchants the audience and his warm open personality made the whole set stick with you for a long time. I really liked his ability to handle any instrument and his impeccable timing matched the metronome that he used as an instrument. True genius this video makes a great addition to any fans collection.

Who is Tomovsky

TOMOVSKY (Born December 14, 1965) is a Japanese male singer-songwriter and illustrator. It is a solo unit by former Castella vocalist Tomoyuki Oki. It is also nicknamed Tomov.
The artist’s name TOMOVSKY is said to have “fidded his real name’ Tonoyuki” in Russian. Atsushi Oki of The Peas is a twin brother. Type O. It was a production activity based on home recordings and his attitude was basically consistent. With major labels he worked on all the lyrics, compositions, arrangements, performances, productions, singing, and jacket illustrations for his mini album “WALTZ“, which became his major debut).

From the mid-2000s the band “Band TOMOVSKY” joined with Hakumasa Taku – guitar, Otsuka Yayoi – keyboard, Kumemura Hitomi – drums, and support bass Atsumi Oki, only one performance using pre-recorded singing and performance sound sources and videos called “Tomovsky No. 2” and “One TOMOVSKY.“
