Pimp Live At 12 Bar Club, London

Pimp was one of my favorite groups to play the 12 Bar stage. The energy in the room turned electric. The singer knew how to hold the crowd and played so well to them. Holds them in the palm of his hand. Hard to classify this band, maybe skat, jazz, alternative rock or something like that?

I have two complete concerts in fairly good shape and ready for fans. Actually you get two totally different videos. The Dec 11 is shot by the late great Mark McDaid and the Mar 24 by Paul Gilbert. Mark was one of my best camera people and he passed away Christmas of 2000 and may he rest in peace. Paul shot the Mar 2001 before he could really be trained by me, so there are some strange effects and he actually turns the camera sideways. What the hey, the concert is still amazing and Paul became a great videographer.

Who are Pimp

Man, lost touch with these guys. It was always a drunken stoned haze in those days and all I can remember is the singer was great and I think his day job was (NOT) in the financial world. A far throw from what he did with his band. Now the name, Pimp, leaves a lot to be desired when you don’t want to be stuck in the rut of being an adult thing. Hard to find out anything about this amazing group. If you have any information please contact me here and let me know. I am dying to find out.
