Orange Park came to Spiral Lounge stage during the CMJ week of 1999. They hit you with a passion and energy that grabs you right away. The half hour set lays out some pretty songs and the band performed as a power trio. Seems one of the brothers was out or still not performing with the band. There are amazing harmonies between the drummer, Jay and brother Jeff on guitar. I love it when the drummer sings and here you have a musical family so you understand how they work so well together.

Some sweet songs in there that will hook you immediately. Fine bass line and tight rhythm section will bring you to their beat. The harmonies are strong and the guitar wails so overall; the band should rock you.

Who are Orange Park

Power pop band originally from Jacksonville, FL, where they were named Lysergic Garage Party. The band moved to New York City and began releasing records as Orange Park. Here we captured them as they started out and were a feature band for the CMJ Music Festival.

Orange Park is a band from the Big Apple and separates itself from the horde of punk-cum-garage rock bands by creating blissful summer pop rock. The set here has two of the three Moore brothers; Jeff and Jay Moore, who along with bassist Harv come off as updated versions of Soul Asylum, Collective Soul with pop sensibility some power rock. Think of groups like Lifehouse or Rubyhorse and you get the idea of what Orange Park is trying to convey.
