Who is Kevin Montgomery
Here is Kevin Montgomery as he continues to spread great Americana music for the British and European audience. Working with the legendary Trish Murphy, Kevin became a formidable force bringing US artists to the UK and EU. He was the composer for the FOX television show Bones through the fourth season. He was nominated for a Grammy Award for his children’s album, My Green Kite. USA Today has called Montgomery “one of rock’s most wildly imaginative performers” for his often highly improvisational stage shows.
Kevin has performed with Al Perkins, John Jorgenson, Paul Bushnell, Jeffrey ‘CJ’ Vanston, Denny Fongheiser, Russ Kunkel, Gayla Borders, Liz Burns, Dee Dee Cooley, Theresa James, Jim Lauderdale, Carol Montgomery, Theresa James, Stan Lynch, Dan Dugmore, Mike Brignardello, Lynne Drennan, Larry Knechtel, and Tim Godwin. We actually have over an hour long performance of Kevin with Al Perkins, but frankly Perkins asked us not to release the material – and in not a nice way he is not a nice guy.
Who is Trish Murphy
Trish Murphy is an Austin, Texas singer, songwriter, chef, writer, champion of girls empowerment and member of the band Skyrocket! She appeared in the Austin City Limits Music Festival twice and has released four records
After this performance she released the CD, Rubies on the Lawn which got national press, mainstream radio airplay and more international touring, including a return to the Lilith Fair in its final season. Captured, released in late 2001 as she was returning to her Texas roots in a stripped-down, live acoustic setting like here at the 12 Bar Club, doing what she does best: telling stories and shooting from the hip.
Murphy made her 2005 record release, Girls Get In Free which combined Murphy’s music with a cause she now supports as the CD release party benefited GENAustin, a non-profit outreach program that helps middle school-aged girls develop strong self-esteem. Murphy is also a member of GENAustin’s Board of Directors.
