Jon Langford Live At 12 Bar Club London

Jon Langford, legendary singer songwriter is joined by BJ Cole to present one of the finest concerts. With Jon Langford bringing his pop punk rock/folk style to the 12 Bar Stage and BJ Cole twisting the notes like taffy on a stick you just cannot go wrong. Jon is bringing his newest songs that would be released on his CD to fans who gathered to pay homage to this great artist.

The full 1 hour concert contains most of his songs from his CD “Skull Orchard” performed live at the legendary 12 Bar Club on Denmark Street, London. Like a gathering of the legends there is also B.J. Cole with his various slide guitars and talent too.

Who is Jon Langford

Langford was originally the drummer for the punk band The Mekons but later took up the guitar as other band members left that group. Since the mid-1980s he has been one of the leaders in incorporating folk and country music into punk rock. He has released a number of solo recordings as well as recordings with other bands outside of The Mekons, most notably the Waco Brothers, which he co-founded after moving to Chicago in the early 1990s. Langford has worked as the founder and member of several solo and band projects including The Three Johns, the Waco Brothers, a punk-meets-Johnny Cash-like ensemble, and the Pine Valley Cosmonauts, a project that explores the music of Bob Wills, Johnny Cash and others. Besides his solo albums Langford has released CDs with Richard Buckner, Kevin Coyne, Kat Ex (Katherina Bornefeld) of The Ex, Roger Knox, and The Sadies, in some cases using the Pine Valley Cosmonauts name

Jon Langford has grit in his voice and melody in his soul. A punk-rock pioneer, a leading light of alt-country, a troubadour for our times, a musicians’ mentor, a visual artist of uncommon skill, a singer-songwriter who writes with the authority of having lived a life rather just having imagined it, how do you peg Langford? Bloodshot Records
