Description

Jennifer Goree Live At 12 Bar Club, London

Right from the beginning Jennifer lets her strong voice loose on the unsuspecting crowd at legendary 12 Bar Club in London. Her homespun songs and demeanor ran throughout the concert. Complete command of the guitar and voice is a dramatic presentation only possible by her life long dedication and journey in music as she reflects the very mountains and rivers that Country music was born.

I am always pleased to present great US talent to the UK and 12 Bar Club was the best venue to show our wares, and vice versa a great place to showcase UK and European talent to the USA through OnlineTV video broadcast. Now you get the opportunity to see these recordings through our archives.

Who is Jennifer Goree

A folksinger from the countryside in upstate South Carolina, Jennifer Goree is the school of folk-rock that includes the Louisiana born  Lucinda Williams, Victoria Williams, and the Canadian group Cowboy Junkies. On her CD she plays with her band Appalachian Soul’s with Glenn Cannon on guitar, banjo and mandolin along with Bunny Goree backing vocals, Andrew Brown on keyboards, Paul Rucker on bass and cello, and drummer Mark Nimmons.  Goree blends acoustic folk and bluegrass with electric rock, and a spectacular voice which always stays at the center.

Goree was born to a musical family where she developed her own musical interests and started out performing her own material on an acoustic guitar built by her uncle at 16. She naturally evolved into the South Carolina folk scene, playing with various local musicians and bands. She eventually sang backup vocals on singer/songwriter Tony Tidwell‘s self-titled debut in 1995 which led to Tidwell’s record label to release her debut self titled CD “Jennifer Goree“.  After that they released Don’t Be a Stranger which is actually Jennifer Goree and Appalachian Soul. Goree and Appalachian Soul continued playing together even while she joined Celtic folk singer Karl Mullen as a harmony singer, vocalist on the album Mercy Me With Curses and touring with his band Ploughman’s Lunch.
