Braxton Hicks At Spiral Lounge Featuring Carrie Baith
When Carrie Baith took the stage with her band Braxton Hicks at the amazing Spiral Lounge, NYC for the OnlineTV Internet video broadcasts she brought with her an ambiance that was hard not to see, hear, and feel. The first sign was the flowers attached to the microphone stand, allowing her to soar to the heavens as her vocals demonstrated.
The sound was right there in the new wave of rock and roll. Carrie’s wonderful timing and soaring vocals played well against the chording of Bill Bush and his guitar licks. The songs moved from the somber ballads to the rock and roll and the band moved the vibe right along. Foot tapping music to say the least with really nice guitar work and a real sensibility to the songs they played.
Who are Braxton Hicks
Realizing that the ultimate way to listen to the sort of live music which they loved was to create it themselves, Carrie Baith (vocals, guitar), Bill Bush (guitar), Roger Hillis (bass), and Chris Laush (drums) created the indie pop/rock and roll band Braxton Hicks in the summertime of 1994 in Dover, DE. They performed at night clubs all along the East Coast while also performing large venues far from home, like the LEADING EDGE Music conference in New Orleans as well as at South by Southwest. They self-released a five-song EP, “Dissolve“, in 1997 then signed to the label Magic Baby by the end of 1997 and released its debut full-length CD, “Where The Sky Meets The Ground.” It is with this CD that Braxton Hicks came to the Spiral Lounge in NYC to play their gigs.
