Whispering Bob – Goldrush At 12 Bar Club
Whispering Bob were a rock band from Oxfordshire, England and changed their name to Goldrush shortly after these shows at 12 Bar Club. Their music has been compared to Nick Drake, The Byrds, The Flaming Lips and Grandaddy. These recordings represent the earliest of of Whispering bob and the eventual Goldrush. On these videos, in particular the Nov 1999, there were many guests brought up and we still do not have the information of who they were. There is a fiddle player and even a saxophone! These guys ruled!

The legendary 12 Bar Club was an amazing place. It had great sound, great lighting (on nights when the lighting guy was there) and it was broadcasting bands live every night over the Internet. This was two decades ago my friends. The 12 Bar Club provided some of our best singer song writer, blues, jazz and rock bands out of the UK. They booked some of the best.
Who are Whispering Bob and Goldrush?
Whispering Bob were a rock band from Oxfordshire, England and changed their name to Goldrush shortly after these shows at Bull and Gate. Their music has been compared to Nick Drake, The Byrds, The Flaming Lips and Grandaddy Goldrush were formed in the late 1990s under the name Whispering Bob, after the DJ “Whispering” Bob Harris, who front man Robin once served while working in the local SPAR shop. After releasing the mini album Another Fine Mess on their own Truck Records label, they changed their name to Goldrush, and soon after were signed to Virgin Records. Their first full-length album, Don’t Bring Me Down, appeared in 2002,
These were encoded from 22 year old digital tapes and there is some artifacts and skipping.
