The Bull & Gate in Kentishtown was packed! The fans were frantic and the band, well, they were frantic too. This video captures The Dawn Parade right at the time they were making the grade and the band lineup was pretty stable. The magic on stage is palpable and when you see the fans roar, you know these guys have the crowd in hand. Front man and song writer for the group, Greg McDonald, knows how to make a show of it and handles the stage as a real pro.
Who are The Dawn Parade
British rock band from St Edmunds, UK that was formed in 2000. The band rocked! But as it grew it changed lineups and things just change. Finally the band re-formed with a new line-up with McDonald on guitar and vocals, Jeremy Jones (lead guitar), Neil Rayson (bass guitar), Mark Sewell (drums, vocals) and Claire Pruden (backing vocals). Rayson was soon replaced by Steve McLoughlin. The first single of this lineup was “The Fortune Line”. The band changed its name to The Visions in late 2005,
Greg McDonald had a solo album out in 2008 and works with a folk band called Glymjack where he shoes his award winning song writing acumen won him awards from Rolling Stone and other competitions.
The band was one of John Peel’s favorites but the fact is, OnlineTV and Rick Siegel figured it out first and has the earliest recordings of The Dawn Parade. Now you can take a trip back to when this band won hearts and minds.
