Original 4 man guitar Band called Keane
It was December 19, 1999 and we were already a big part of Bull and Gate promotion. Every night we would record live the Bull and Gate concert series in Kentishtown for my MusicTV.com website since 1998. Four young lads were in the room that night as their founder, Dominic Scott, signed my contract to get their live concert broadcast worldwide and then archived at MusicTV.com. This was six years before YouTube and doing a live broadcast and archive was expensive and very difficult. Our investment for broadcasts was huge. Groups gave us their rights to the performance in lieu of paying for the broadcast and archiving on our websites.
We were ready and so was Keane. Dominic Scott signed over the rights with a warrantee that he had the authority to give the rights and did it right in the room with his band mates watching on. We needed all rights world wide to broadcast and archive the live and archived video.
Keane, at this time was a four-piece guitar band consisting of founder Dominic Scott on lead guitar, Tom Chaplin on guitar and vocals, Tim Rice-Oxley on bass and Richard Hughs on drums. This series of concerts was all prior to their first complete CD with many songs sung for the first time on our live global broadcast. The OnlineTV broadcast brought Keane to the attention of 1000’s of our US viewers. Now we are bringing these concerts to you in full resolution for the first time.
Ever want to see what the Keane band looked and sounded like before they made their first record label contracts? Well Online TV broadcast the band at least three times over the early years from 1999 to 2001 and these concerts represent those years of growth. You can see the band move from a new untrained band to final stages where they showed their growth and maturity.
This is like getting the original Beatles (the Silver Beatles) tapes from the Cellar Club in Liverpool! Even their history forgot their big shows in 1999 at the Bull & Gate broadcast live over the Internet on Music TV or their archives that were online until the servers were stolen. This is a slice of Keane history.
These recordings do not represent the present band. They are historical tapes from the days Keane was a quartet and guitar band. Featuring
|The Original Keane|
Lead guitar and vocals
Guitar and Vocals
|Tim Rice Oxley
The concert dates are:
December 18, 1999
February 10, 2000

Disclaimer: This is not the Keane Band as it stands today. The music is young, raw, and unpolished. The lineup is different, the songs different. The release has nothing to do with the current Keane Band and they are not involved in the release of this material, quality of recording or the remastering.
